Bil'in, West Bank, Occupied Palestine

Number sixty in my ongoing series on Palestine. This shot is dedicated to the millions of Palestinian women and men that have persistently risked their lives, their homes, and families to resist the sixty year occupation and ongoing ethnic cleansing of Palestine by the Zionist movement and her client state: "Israel." In the photo a group of Palestinian villagers from Bil'in, near Ramallah force open a gate that is part of a complex of razor wire, and electric fencing that has orchestrated Israel's annexation of half of the agricultural land of the village of Bil'in. Since the land grab, the villagers of Bil'in, supported by Israeli and international activists, have staged weekly nonviolent demonstrations at the site of the Israeli separation barrier in various areas around the village. Again, I repeat the beautiful and prophetic words of a member of the popular committee of Bil'in in honor of all those who have struggled and died or lived on in the sixty year struggle to liberate Palestine and in so doing liberate Jewish Israelis from the self-destructive injustice that is the Zionist entity:

“we will continue in our struggle, until the occupational government destroys the wall and the settlements in all of Palestine, and we will build together, with our bodies, real bridges of love and security and peace, in order to conquer the wall. And we will crush all of the machinations of the occupation, until we reach the ocean that knows no border -- and on its safe shores, we will sing the song of freedom and peace, together -- far from the injustices of the occupation, and its roadblocks and barriers.”
