Gaza Fish Docks, Occupied Gaza Strip. Summer 2007.

As a delicate calm settles over Gaza with Hamas in control children go to the fishing port to swim. It is a rare instance of beauty in the midst of depravity...joy in the midst of misery. Their happiness softens my heart while their hardness to the death all around them ignites unquenchable anger in me. Children should never grow accustomed to occupation. Children are born to be free. Damn those who deny children such a basic human right.

like genecho_ i see this picture as a little too dark _ but it's soooo good to see pics of Palestinian children at play instead of being rushed into hospitals covered in blood or worse _ more than 55,000 orphans in Gaza >: \

I like the composition, but it's a bit dark.
